Getting started
Your classroom records stay in Google Workspace files you own. Start with the tool you need; you do not need to set up every module first.
- Sign in with Google using the account where you keep your classroom files. Approve the permissions for the tools you want to use.
- Open Hall Pass or the Student Support Log from Home. Teacher OS creates the needed workspace in your Drive when you use the tool.
- For a shared roster, open Students & Classes, choose a school year, then choose your Google Classroom courses. Classroom access is read-only. You can use grading without importing a Classroom roster.
- For AI grading, open Plan & feature access. Pro is $4.99/month. Pilot teachers already have access, with no card required. There is no automatic trial.
- Open Grading Workspace, choose an editable Google response Sheet, select the assignment, and create its grading sheet. Review the questions, weights, and grading prompt before approving a run.
- Review the generated grades and feedback before sharing anything. Sending feedback is always your decision.
If something interrupts setup
Google or your school blocks access: your school administrator may need to approve Teacher OS. App verification does not override a district restriction. Use the same Google account when reconnecting.
A file is missing: choose it again in the Google Picker and confirm that your signed-in account can edit it. Files in a different Google account are not automatically shared.
You paid but grading is locked: check Plan & feature access and contact support if your access is incorrect. Do not start a second purchase. Manage subscription opens Stripe for payment updates, receipts, and cancellation.
A grading run pauses: completed, verified results are saved in your Sheet. Select Grade Responses again to continue. Rows already marked Graded are left unchanged; review any row errors before retrying.
You changed devices: your files stay in Drive, but some grading preferences and workflow selections are stored in that browser. Choose the file again and review your settings.
You stop paying: new AI grading requires paid or pilot access. Your files are not deleted. Hall Pass and the Student Support Log remain free; existing work stays available in Google Drive.
