The simple agreement behind Teacher OS.
These terms explain — in plain English — what you can expect from Teacher OS and what we ask of you in return. Our goal is transparency, not intimidation. Teacher OS is a tool built to support teachers, and you stay in charge of your classroom.

1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Teacher OS, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using Teacher OS on behalf of a school or district, you confirm that you are allowed to do so. If you do not agree with these terms, please don't use the platform.
2. Description of Service
Teacher OS is a platform that helps teachers with everyday classroom workflows. It works alongside the Google Sheets you already use, rather than replacing them. Today, the platform includes:
- Grading Workspace. Tools to manage assignments, grade more quickly, and generate feedback you can review and edit.
- Hall Pass. A way to track student movement, manage passes, and see classroom activity at a glance.
- Student Support Log. A teacher-owned place to document interventions, contact attempts, concerns, and follow-ups so you can notice patterns over time.
Teacher OS is a modular platform, and we expect to add new modules and features over time. These terms apply to those future modules as well, unless we say otherwise.
3. User Responsibilities
When you use Teacher OS, you agree to:
- Follow the rules that apply to you. You are responsible for complying with your district, school, and any local, state, or federal legal requirements — including those covering student privacy and records.
- Keep your account secure. Use accurate sign-in information and take reasonable steps to protect access to your account.
- Use appropriate permissions. Only connect spreadsheets and data you are authorized to access and use.
- Stay responsible for your decisions. Teacher OS assists you, but the educational decisions and communications you make remain yours.
4. Acceptable Use
To keep Teacher OS safe and reliable for everyone, please don't:
- Use the platform for anything unlawful, or in violation of your school or district policies.
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorized to use.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to break the security of the platform.
- Misuse the platform in a way that harms students, colleagues, or other users.
5. Teacher Ownership of Data
You own your content and your data. The classroom information you work with — including the records kept in your Google Sheets — remains yours. Google Sheets stays the source of truth, and Teacher OS is designed to keep ownership and control in your hands.
We don't claim ownership of your content. We access it only to provide the features you ask for, as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Intellectual Property
While your content stays yours, the Teacher OS platform itself stays ours. The Teacher OS software, branding, logos, designs, and other platform intellectual property are the property of Teacher OS. Using the platform doesn't give you ownership of these, and you agree not to copy, modify, or reuse them except as allowed by these terms or with our permission.
7. AI-Assisted Features
Teacher OS uses AI to assist with tasks like grading support, drafting feedback, and surfacing insights. These features are meant to save you time — not to make decisions for you.
AI-generated suggestions can be imperfect or incorrect, so you should review and edit them before using or sharing them. The final grades, feedback, and communications you send are your responsibility. We don't guarantee any particular grading outcome or the accuracy of AI-generated content.
8. Service Availability
We work to keep Teacher OS available and dependable, but the platform will change and evolve over time. Features may be added, updated, or removed, and the service may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or issues outside our control. We can't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
9. Limitation of Liability
Teacher OS is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We put real care into the platform, but we're an early-stage product and can't promise it will always be perfect.
To the extent allowed by law, Teacher OS is not liable for indirect or unexpected damages arising from your use of the platform — for example, lost data that lives in systems we don't control, or decisions made based on AI-assisted suggestions. Because your content lives in the Google Sheets you own, keeping your own records is always a good idea.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service as Teacher OS grows or as our practices change. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continuing to use Teacher OS after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
